February 2008

The 2008 Lasagna Dinner hosted by the Endowment Fund had an excellent turn-out of  90 people who enjoyed the meal prepared by Jane Luderer, Betty Maynard, George Lord, Ron Moore, Bea Grimmett, Lorie Babcock and Debbie Logler. Neil Gray acted as the Auctioneer for the evening entertainment and raised considerable funds to help the Fund grow.

 

This annual meal, initiated by George Pike in 2004, has grown to fill the tables at the Newport Yacht Club with hearty appetites and hopes for some great desserts along with some Ciante wine donated by George Pike.

 

Jean Babcock the President of the Endowment reminded the attendees of the good work that the fund has accomplished this year which included educational grants to IYRS students in Newport and Bristol Rhode Island, NYC Junior Sailors, Portsmouth Junior Sailors, and  several other learning groups.

 

The 2009 Rubber Ducky Regatta will be raced on August 22nd and entry forms are available on this site. The Tommy Dawson Golf Tournament will have sign-up sheets at the club in August.
